Golden Ravioli inducted into the Family Business WA Hall of Fame

Golden Ravioli was immensely proud to be inducted into the Family Business WA Hall of Fame on Friday 14 May 2021 in its hometown at Mandoon Estate, Caversham.

The FBA Chapter Hall of Fame is a highly regarded peer commendation bestowed at a state level on one outstanding business each year by Family Business Australia. Regardless of size of the business, this citation recognises the achievements of families that are managing respected and successful family businesses and pays homage to the significant role they play in our community, society and economy. Induction into the FBA Hall of Fame is an honour that is highly esteemed within the family business sector and inductees are justly proud to be recognised for their achievements.

Golden Ravioli is in illustrious company, joining WA’s Family Business Hall of Fame Inductees including Linneys Jewellery, JWH Group, Kreepy Krauly, Catalano’s Seafood, Baileys Fertilisers, Hiddlestone Electrics, VEEM Ltd, Dawson’s Garden World, Freedom Pools & Spas, Leeuwin Estate, Galvin Engineering, Kailis Family, Lionel Samson Sadleirs Group and Betts Group.

The announcement of Golden Ravioli’s Family Business WA Hall of Fame Induction was made at the first of the national Family Business Insights State Conference 2021 events. It felt amazing for the Lenzarini Family to finally be back amongst the local family business community at such a fitting venue, be treated to a first class lunch, listen to inspirational business stories and insights from exceptional local speakers and celebrate the award!

Golden Ravioli’s journey with Family Business Australia over the last 3 years has been invaluable.

From Renée Lenzarini (Marketing & Relationship Manager, Golden Ravioli) on her family business’s Hall of Fame WA Induction:

“I was extremely honoured to accept Golden Ravioli’s Family Business Hall of Fame award earlier this month as a granddaughter of an original founder and third generation family member. I know my Nonno, Florindo, would have been beyond proud.

Our story is built on culture, heritage and tradition; as well as an enduring legacy of quality and generosity: the spirit of care.

My Nonno’s dream was to become a chef and open his own restaurant. After several years practicing as an assistant chef, he bought the Romany Café with his brothers Carlo, Narciso and Stefano in 1958. Together the Lenzarini family established the famous Northbridge institution, the Romany Restaurant. In the early days, all of the pasta that was made for the restaurant was done so by hand. Florindo recognised the increasing work demands placed on the family and travelled to meet with machine manufacturers in Italy. He imported their first machines to Perth; one to mix the pasta and the other for the ravioli. In 1964 Golden Ravioli was born in response to Perth’s growing love affair with fresh and authentic pasta.

As the oldest pasta makers in Perth, we’ve built a brand our customers can trust and depend upon that is available all around Greater Perth. A reputation founded so many years ago on authenticity and quality; from the garage of my Nonno and Nonna’s home in North Perth, to selling direct to the public from the back of the Romany Restaurant, and finally to our current factory and wholesale / retail store premises in Fitzgerald Street. We certainly have come a long way; an inspiring transition from hospitality to manufacturing.

I believe Golden Ravioli’s induction into the Family Business Hall of Fame this month firmly recognises that Florindo succeeded in achieving his title of chef. His creativity can be tasted in the same original recipes that are still used today, in the production of our Pasta Fresca collection and Pasta al Forno meals.

Golden Ravioli’s induction into the Family Business Hall of Fame is truly a celebration of the Lenzarini family, my Nonno’s passion for la cucina Toscana, and my Dad’s determination to honour his legacy.

I’d like thank our most loyal employees, who are our Golden Ravioli family. And of course the pasta enthusiasts of Perth, who continue to choose our fresh pasta products for their everyday meals and most special life events.

Grazie mille, thank you very much Family Business Australia.”
